About Massage

Massage is a form of bodywork which is based on theories of anatomy and physiology and works to relieve pain/stress and patterns of dysfunction in the body. This is accomplished by systematic manual application of pressure and movement to the soft tissue of the body--the skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Techniques, usually applied with oil or lotion, can include kneading, stroking, friction and vibration, all with varying degrees of pressure. This form of bodywork may also include active or passive stretches or the application of hot or cold treatments. Each client's needs are different, a different style, technique and approach are applied accordingly.
